On 24 May 2010, the Kampuchea Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Auditors and the National Accounting Council organised a workshop on "The Discussion of the Developed Standardised Accounting Syllabus" presided over by H.E. Ngy Tayi, Undersecretary of State and the Chairman of the National Accounting Council of the Ministry of Economy and Finance. The purpose of the workshop was to dissesimate the developed standardised syllabus of accounting degreee developed by the international consultant - Mr. John McDonagh under the Grant No. TF09337 "Improving Corporate Financial Report Project".
At the beginning of the Workshop, the President of the KICPAA, Mr, Kuy Lim, provided his introductory speech to the audience. H.E. Ngy Tayi then provided his welcoming speech before the international consultant presents his findings and the developed standardised syllabus of accounting degreee to the audience.
The International Consultant, Mr. John McDonagh, presented his agenda which included the assessment report, the developed standardised syllabus of accounting degree, and the memorandum of cooperation between the respective university and the Kampuchea Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Auditors. During his presentation of the assessment report, he recommended 21 recommendations to the universities for the adoption of the developed standardised syllabus. He then indicated the developed standardised syllabus of accounting degree to the audience.
The participants from higher education institutions, banks, audit firms and business industries actively involved in the workshop.
